collateral damage

Understanding the magnitude in which violence has affected me as a person has lead me to explore the idea of combining real life events with my obsession and addiction to violent video games. In fact, the most important decisions that I have made in my life were caused or related in some way, shape or form to an event in which violence was a key factor in determinging.

I chose to examine widely known and used weaponry as the "Icons of War" to raise awareness of the mecahnics of this iconography ranging from where they are made, how they are used and how they managed to end up in countries far away from their origins.

In this work I hope to raise questions about the issues of violence and how they are perceived in our society not only through the iconography of real warfare but in popular culture - through video games.
